The Government of Fiji has launched the Veimataki Leadership Series, a new initiative coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade and the Fiji Learning Institute for Public Service. The series brings together senior leaders from across the Fijian State including permanent secretaries and heads of the disciplined forces for regular, high-level dialogue on leadership and statecraft.
The series is designed to strengthen leadership capacity across Government while preserving and transferring institutional knowledge and experience to future generations of public servants. It is built around Veimataki — trust, reciprocity, stewardship and integrity — values the Government says should guide how public institutions engage communities and represent Fiji internationally.
The inaugural dialogue, themed “Statecraft, Veimataki and Fiji’s Strategic Future,” was officially opened this week and is intended to be the first in an ongoing series of leadership conversations across the public service.
