The Fiji Embassy in Brussels, established in July 1973, serves as Fiji’s gateway into the European Union (EU) with its accreditation as Permanent Representation to the European Union, comprising 27 member states, and as Permanent Mission to the 79-member African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group of States.
Multilateral Relations
The Embassy is predominantly a multilateral Mission. Its activities are primarily driven by the relationship between the EU and the ACP Group, which is governed by the COTONOU Partnership Agreement.
As part of its other multilateral functions, the Mission is accredited to a number of UN and other international organisations in Europe.
This multilateral framework provides the platform to promote Trade, Development Cooperation and Political Dialogue and address global public goods, including Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda for Financing for Development, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, Terrorism, Migration and Illicit Financial Flows.
Bilateral Relations
The Embassy is accredited to eleven European countries with the prime objective of deepening bilateral ties by promoting cooperation in the areas of tourism, investment, education, sports and cultural exchanges.
Organisation
The Head of Mission, Ambassador Deo Saran, is assisted by a small team of diplomats comprising Mr Nidhendra Pratap Singh as the Counsellor and Mr. Shanil Dayal, as the First Secretary. In addition, there are three support staff.

H.E. Sir Josua Rabukawaqa served as non-resident Head of Mission to the EU whilst based in London as Fiji’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
