The Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade (MFAET), Honourable Lenora Qereqeretabua bid farewell to Australia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator, Hon. Penny Wong and Minister for Pacific Island Affairs and Minister for Defence Industry, The Hon. Pat Conroy MP, at the Nausori Airport this morning, following the conclusion of their ministerial visit to Fiji.
The farewell delegation also comprised of Australia’s High Commissioner to Fiji, H.E Peter Roberts and officials from the Australia High Commission in Suva.
The brief but productive visit enabled constructive discussions between the Ministers and Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Cabinet Ministers and Senior Government Officials. It marked a renewed sense of partnership purposed at making meaningful impacts on the lives of the peoples of both nations as well as that of the broader Pacific region.
The Ministers expressed their appreciation to the Government and the people of Fiji for the warm welcome and productive discussions. The visit marks a significant achievement in elevating the Vuvale Partnership and our shared commitment to building economic resilience, trade and health, regional peace and security.
