The Prime Minister of Australia, Honourable Anthony Albanese MP, was today conferred Fiji’s highest honour, the Companion of the Order of Fiji (General Division) by the President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, during a distinguished Investiture Ceremony held at the State House in Suva.
The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of Fiji, Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka, Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Honourable Sakiasi Ditoka, senior Cabinet Ministers, Australia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Senator the Honourable Penny Wong, the High Commissioner of Australia to Fiji, His Excellency, Peter Roberts, members of the Australian delegation, members of the Diplomatic Corps and other distinguished dignitaries.
The conferral of Fiji’s highest State honour represents the nation’s appreciation for Australia’s longstanding friendship and in particular, Prime Minister Albanese’s significant contributions to Fiji’s development and the Pacific region.
