The Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Honourable Sakiasi Ditoka this week received a farewell call from the Charge’ de Affaires (CDA) of the United States Embassy, Mr. John Degory, at the Ministry headquarters in Suva.
The meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on the longstanding partnership between Fiji and the United States which continues to be underpinned by shared values, mutual respect and cooperation across a broad range of priorities.
Hon. Ditoka conveyed the appreciation of the Government and people of Fiji to Mr. Degory for his dedicated service and leadership and for his contribution towards strengthening Fiji-United States relations particularly through collaboration on the Millennium Challenge Cooperation (MCC) and advancing cooperation across the Pacific region underpinned by the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent.
Hon. Ditoka extended his best wishes to Mr. Degory as he concludes his assignment in Fiji and thanked him for his friendship, professionalism and commitment.
Mr. Degory in turn expressed his appreciation to the Government and people of Fiji for the support and friendship extended to him during his tenure and reaffirmed the United States commitment to further deepening its partnership with Fiji and the wider Pacific Region.
