The Fiji High Commission in New Zealand received a generous donation of three boxes containing denture sets from Mr Steve Russell of Petone Dental Laboratory, who was accompanied by his wife Mrs Karin Russell during the presentation.
The donation was received by the High Commissioner, His Excellency Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, who conveyed the High Commission’s sincere appreciation to Mr and Mrs Russell for their generosity and goodwill towards the people of Fiji.
Mr Russell is a Clinical Dental Technician with over 50 years of professional experience, including extensive work in the provision and care of dentures. His contribution reflects a genuine desire to support those who may benefit from improved access to dental care in Fiji.
The donated denture sets have the potential to provide meaningful assistance to Fijians in need, particularly elderly members of our communities and those living in villages and rural areas, where access to specialised dental services may be more limited.
High Commissioner Kubuabola acknowledged the donation as a valuable gesture of friendship and goodwill, noting that practical contributions of this nature can make positive difference to the health, and wellbeing of individuals and communities.
The High Commission will work with the relevant authorities in Fiji to ensure that the donated items are appropriately assessed and directed to where they can be of greatest benefit.
The Fiji High Commission remains committed to ensuring that its engagements and partnership in New Zealand, wherever possible, translate into tangible and meaningful benefits for the people of Fiji, strengthening the enduring people-to-people ties between Fiji and New Zealand.
