Hon. Ditoka Receives Courtesy Call from the Special Envoy of the People’s Republic of China

The Government of the People’s Republic of China notified the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade regarding its military training activity which was to be conducted on 6 July 2026 in the Pacific region. The notification advised that the activity formed part of a scheduled military training exercise and assured Fiji that the operation was not directed at any country in the Pacific and posed no security threat to the region.
Fiji remains firmly committed to the vision of the Pacific as an Ocean of Peace, where dialogue, transparency, mutual respect, and adherence to international law underpin regional security and prosperity. Fiji reaffirms its support for the Raratoga Treaty and respects any development cooperation in the Pacific Region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade will continue to engage constructively with all partners in advancing Fiji’s foreign policy priorities and supporting a peaceful, stable and secure Blue Pacific region.
