
Fiji assumes chairmanship for the Regional Cooperative Agreement (RCA) for the Asia Pacific at the 47th meeting of National representatives to the RCA, Nadi

The Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Lenora Qereqeretabua attended the official launch of the Clinical Services Plan held at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH) in Suva on Tuesday 20th May 2025. The Plan was jointly launched by the Minister for Health and Medical Services, Hon. Dr. Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu and Australia’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon Penny Wong.
During the visit to CWMH, Hon. Penny Wong announced that a new clinical services plan will help strengthen the delivery of health services for the people of Fiji. Australia will also deliver almost $4 million to support Fiji’s HIV outbreak response plan.
Hon. Qereqeretabua and Hon. Lalabalavu extended their appreciation to the Australian Government for the continued support in key areas of development such as health.
During their official visit to Fiji this week, Hon. Penny Wong and Hon. Matt Thistlewaite held high level meetings with senior government officials to discuss the strengthening of Vuvale Partnership, deepening trade arrangements, and boosting cooperation on development, climate action, and resilience.
The visit reaffirmed Australia’s commitment to working with Fiji to achieve the two countries’ shared vision for a peaceful, prosperous and unified region.
