Traditional Ceremony of Welcome Accorded to the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau

The United States Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau arrived at the Nausori Airport, this morning – marking his first official visit to Fiji.
Upon arrival, Deputy Secretary Landau was warmly welcomed by the Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade (MFAET), Hon. Lenora Qereqeretabua.
Deputy Secretary’s Landau’s visit reaffirms the enduring partnership between the United States and Fiji.
As part of the program this morning, the Government of Fiji led by the Prime Minister Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka accorded a traditional ceremony of welcome to Deputy Secretary Landau.
Following the welcoming ceremony, Deputy Secretary Landau, then proceeded for a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister, Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka and senior government representatives to discuss opportunities to deepen collaboration in economic growth, trade and investment and elevate U.S. relations with Fiji and the wider Pacific region.
