Fiji to Welcome UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs

The Government of Fiji will welcome Her Excellency Dr. Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on an official visit to Fiji this week.

The visit will provide an opportunity to further strengthen the growing bilateral relationship between Fiji and the UAE and advance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

During her visit, Dr. Al Kaabi is expected to hold discussions with senior Fijian Government officials on strengthening bilateral cooperation, including trade and investment, climate change, renewable energy, education and development cooperation.

Discussions are also expected to cover key bilateral initiatives, including the proposed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and Memoranda of Understanding in areas of mutual interest, as well as opportunities to enhance connectivity and economic links between Fiji and the UAE.

The anticipated establishment of the UAE Embassy in Suva will also be an important focus, reflecting the UAE’s growing engagement with Fiji and the wider Pacific region.

Fiji and the UAE established diplomatic relations in 2010, and bilateral ties have continued to develop across a range of areas.

The Government of Fiji looks forward to welcoming Dr. Al Kaabi and to further advancing the warm and growing partnership between Fiji and the UAE.
