
Counsellor – Mr. Josefa Tuima
Mr. Josefa Tuima serves as the Counsellor at the Fiji Embassy in Jerusalem, bringing over 24 years of experience in diplomacy, macroeconomics, and strategic finance to the Fiji Embassy in Jerusalem. His professional foundation is rooted in economic policy, beginning with a tenure at the Reserve Bank of Fiji followed by over a decade at the Ministry of Finance. In these roles, he specialized in macroeconomic forecasting, trade policy, and national budget coordination, providing him with the analytical rigor necessary for high-level diplomatic reporting.
Building on this economic expertise, Mr. Tuima transitioned into senior diplomatic leadership, most recently serving as the Director of the Asia Bureau and Middle East Burau, and as Director of Finance within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His international credentials include a five-year posting as First Secretary in Beijing, where he managed bilateral negotiations and trade promotions. This extensive background is supported by a Masters in Economics from Shanghai and specialized training from the UK Defense Academy, ensuring a sophisticated approach to strategic regional engagement.
In his current capacity in Jerusalem, Mr. Tuima integrates his experience in social sector appraisal and trade incentives to bridge economic diplomacy with national resilience. By leveraging his deep understanding of quantitative analysis and international policy, he is dedicated to fostering robust ties between Suva and Jerusalem. He ensures that Fiji’s strategic interests are proactively represented within Israel’s dynamic and evolving diplomatic environment.
