The Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Dr. Raijeli Taga, met with the United States of America (USA) Deputy Assistant Secretary for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands in the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Mr. Matthew Murray, on Monday (20.04.2026) at the Ministry’s headquarters.
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for both sides to exchange views on bilateral cooperation, regional developments, and shared priorities between Fiji and the United States. Discussions covered a range of issues of mutual interest, including economic partnerships, regional security, and cooperation on broader regional matters.
The meeting with Deputy Assistant Secretary Murray underscored the United States’ continued commitment to strengthening its engagement and partnership with Fiji and the wider Pacific region.
