Ambassador Koya Presents Letters of Credentials to His Majesty the King of Bahrain 🇫🇯🤝🇧🇭

The Republic of Fiji’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Bahrain (resident in Abu Dhabi), His Excellency Mr Siddiq Faizal Riyad Koya, presented his Letters of Credentials to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at Sakhir Palace in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain.

The presentation earlier this week, formally marked the commencement of Ambassador Koya’s accreditation and reaffirmed the longstanding friendship and growing partnership between Fiji and Bahrain.

During an audience with His Majesty, Ambassador Koya conveyed the warm greetings of the President of the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu, Prime Minister Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka, the Government and the people of Fiji. He reaffirmed Fiji’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, renewable energy, climate resilience, tourism, labour mobility, education and multilateral engagement, while deepening ties between the Blue Pacific and the Gulf region.

Ambassador Koya noted that the presentation came at a significant time for both countries and the wider international community.

“During the recent regional conflict, Fiji stood in solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain and our Gulf partners, supporting efforts to promote peace, dialogue, restraint and the protection of civilians. We commend Bahrain’s resilience and steadfast commitment to regional stability.”

He added that Fiji and Bahrain share a commitment to peace, mutual respect, international law and multilateral cooperation in addressing global challenges, including climate change, sustainable development and economic resilience.

His Majesty King Hamad welcomed the newly accredited ambassadors and reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to dialogue, peaceful coexistence, regional stability and constructive international cooperation.

Ambassador Koya expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Government of Bahrain and voiced confidence that Fiji–Bahrain relations would continue to deepen through closer diplomatic engagement and practical cooperation.

Ambassador Koya was accompanied by Mr Sanaila Saukawa Laqai, First Secretary at the Embassy of the Republic of Fiji in Abu Dhabi.
