A high-level delegation from Wallis and Futuna, co-led by the Prefect of the French Territory of Wallis and Futuna, Mr. Jean-Francois de Manheulle, and the President of the Territorial Assembly, His Excellency Munipoese Muli’aka’aka, visited Gospel High School in Samabula as part of their official field visit to Fiji, this week.
The delegation was accompanied by Fiji’s Roving Ambassador to the Pacific, Mr. William Toganivalu, and the Second Secretary for Roving Ambassadors Division, Mr. Maciu Ratu.
The visit to Gospel High School reflected on the shared commitment to advancing educational collaboration. The delegation had the opportunity to observe firsthand how Fiji’s education system operates, engage with school management, and learn from Fiji’s best practices in curriculum delivery, community engagement and holistic student development.
The visit also provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and potential future partnerships in education and capacity building.
In addition, the delegation paid a courtesy call visit to the Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro to discuss strengthening institutional linkages, enhancing technical and vocational education and training under the framework of the Declaration of Intent (DOI) for Development Cooperation.
Later in the week, the delegation is expected to continue its field visits to Koronivia Research Station to explore agricultural research, Naduruloulou in Kasavu to observe rural development efforts, the Kidney Foundation of Fiji in Toorak and Sai Prema Foundation in Nasese to learn about Fiji’s healthcare outreach and support systems.
The visit underscores the strong and growing partnerships between Fiji and Wallis and Futuna, grounded in mutual respect, shared development priorities, and a collective vision for sustainable progress in the Pacific region.
