Hon. Ditoka Meets the DG of the Commonwealth Foundation

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Hon. Sakiasi Ditoka, met with Singapore’s Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs, Hon. Edwin Tong SC, in the margins of the Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting in Nadi yesterday (11/2/2026).
The meeting reaffirmed Fiji and Singapore’s strong commitment to deepen the bilateral and multilateral engagements on shared priorities such as climate actions, trade and economy, technology and innovation, and justice and law.
Hon. Ditoka acknowledged Singapore’s ongoing support through the Singapore Cooperation Programme (SCP) – which enables Fijians to attain professional training programs in various sectors and on a parallel welcomed prospects for cooperation in digital development, and cyber security initiatives.
The discussions elaborated on the collaborative solutions to share best practices and learn through experiences, that will foster tangible benefits for the two nations and our peoples.
Hon. Tong SC congratulated Hon. Ditoka in assuming his new Ministerial portfolio and reaffirmed Singapore’s steadfast commitment to further elevate the relations.
The meeting underscored the longstanding partnership built on mutual respect and shared commitment to economic resilience, stability and prosperity.
Fiji and Singapore have enjoyed a warm friendship since formal diplomatic relations was established in 1971.
