
Fiji and Commonwealth Reaffirm Relations Ahead of CLMM

As Fiji hosts 2026 Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting [CLMM] –one of the largest and most important gatherings of law ministers and attorneys-general, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade [MFAET] teams are on the ground providing protocol facilitation and logistical support, led by our Protocol Division and Policy Bureaus.
This year’s CLMM which begins in Nadi tomorrow – will mark the first Commonwealth ministerial meeting for the new Secretary-General, Honourable Shirley Botchwey, as well as her first official engagement in the Pacific region.
In recognition of this milestone event, MFAET acknowledges the strong collaboration across government ministries and key stakeholders working together to deliver this historic event for Fiji and the wider Pacific family – marking it the first in the South Pacific.
MFAET also commends all the hardworking officers for their teamwork, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to service, as Fiji welcomes over 150 delegates from 56 Commonwealth countries, including attorneys-general, justice ministers, and solicitors -general.
