
Hon. Qereqeretabua represents Fiji at the 60th Constitution Day Celebration Rarotonga, Cook Islands

Prime Minister Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka yesterday expressed Fiji’s interest to strengthen bilateral engagements with Uzbekistan.
The Prime Minister conveyed this while receiving a courtesy visit from the Non-Resident Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Fiji, His Excellency Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov in his office.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated Ambassador Abdurakhmonov on his new role, stating that his appointment marked an important step towards strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Fiji and Uzbekistan.
Describing the relationship between the two countries as multifaceted, Hon. Rabuka said that Fiji is actively pursuing meaningful cooperation through diplomatic, economic and cultural channels.
The Prime Minister took the opportunity to highlight the Ocean of Peace concept, stating that it underscores the importance of shared responsibility for peace and security in the region.
He asserted that the concept will be the Pacific’s contribution to global peace and security.
In his response, Ambassador Abdurakhmonov thanked the Prime Minister for the meeting, adding that Uzbekistan looks forward to more cooperation with Fiji in areas of common interest.
