The Fiji High Commission, Wellington in New Zealand had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from the Fiji National University (FNU).
The delegation led by FNU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Baba and senior university officials were warmly welcomed Fiji’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola.
As part of the visit, a presentation on the Mission’s history and work was delivered by Second Secretary Mr Josua Tuwere, offering valuable insights into the Fiji High Commission’s role in strengthening bilateral relations and supporting Fiji’s development interests abroad.
Following the presentation, productive discussions took place on opportunities to link Fiji National University with relevant institutions in New Zealand, with a view to enhancing FNU’s programme delivery and strengthening partnerships in education and training.
The FNU delegation is visiting New Zealand under an Australian Government-funded initiative aimed at developing women leaders. During their stay, they will engage with representatives from the New Zealand Government and academia, and will travel to other centres outside Wellington, including Palmerston North, before returning to Fiji in a week’s time.
The Fiji High Commission wishes the delegation every success in their engagements and looks forward to further collaboration in advancing educational ties between Fiji and New Zealand.
The FNU senior officials who are part of the delegation includes Adi Salaseini Rabuka (Director Industry Training), Tavenisa Tofinga (Financial Controller), Apikali Vosalotaki (Business Manager), Vane Seruvakula (Associate Dean, Technical and Vocational Education and Training), Milika Ligabalavu (Assistant Lecturer, Law), Tetalo Tetalo (Acting Head of School, Agriculture), Mereia Lomavatu (Acting Associate Dean, Research), Anjani Prasad (Senior Executive Officer, Administration), Dr Joseph Veramu (Director, Planning and Development), and Kanito Lovobalavu (Manager, OHS and Emergency Management).
