🇫🇯🤝🇮🇩 | Fiji Strengthens Defence Partnership With Indonesia Through Multinational Peacekeeping Exercise

Fiji has reaffirmed its commitment to international peacekeeping and regional defence cooperation through the participation of 14 Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) personnel in Exercise Garuda Canti Dharma III (GCD III) 2026 — a multinational peacekeeping exercise hosted by the Indonesian Peacekeeping Mission Centre (PMPP TNI) in Sentul, Bogor.

Jointly organised by the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the United States Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), the exercise brought together more than 700 personnel from 22 countries to strengthen interoperability, leadership and operational readiness for future United Nations peacekeeping missions through staff planning, field training and multinational cooperation.

Representing the Government of Fiji, Fiji’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Ratu Isoa Delamisi Tikoca, attended the Senior Military Leaders Discussion Forum and closing ceremony at the invitation of the Commandant of PMPP TNI, reflecting the growing defence partnership between Fiji and Indonesia.

Fiji has a longstanding record of contributing to United Nations peacekeeping operations, while Indonesia continues to play a leading role in advancing regional peacekeeping capabilities.

Fiji’s participation underscores the shared commitment of both countries to international peace, security and professional excellence, while further strengthening cooperation in military training, professional exchanges and peacekeeping capacity-building.
