We proudly acknowledge the outstanding leadership of Fijians across the Pacific legal landscape, as showcased at this year’s 44th Pacific Islands Law Officers Network (PILON) Annual Meeting currently held in Port Moresby.
Aside from Fiji’s delegation, we celebrate the achievements and contributions of the following meeting participants who hold key legal positions across the region, a reflection of our growing influence and commitment to legal excellence in the Pacific:
▪️Ms. Andie Driu – Director of Public Prosecutions, Nauru
▪️Ms. Neomai Maravuakula – Team Leader, Governance & Institutional Strengthening, Pacific Community (SPC)
▪️Ms. Stella Aitcheson – Crown Counsel, Tuvalu
▪️Ms. Liliviwa Baleimatuku – Acting Director, Pacific Islands Legal Information Institute (PacLII)
▪️Mr. Uraia Makulau – Assistant Attorney General, Republic of the Marshall Islands
▪️ Mr. Janmai Jai Udit – Secretary for Justice and Border Control, Nauru
Equally exciting to note is that Fiji hosts the region’s most extensive legal institutions – 50 prosecutors under the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and 124 legal aid solicitors within the Office of the Director of Legal Aid (LA) – showing an even stronger commitment to maintaining a robust and impartial justice system that ensures equitable access to legal assistance for all our citizens.
Vinaka Vakalevu, Team FIJI!
