The Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of Fiji, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola yesterday made a visit to the Pacific Fusion Centre (PFC) in Port Vila, Vanuatu.
The Special Envoy and his delegation comprising of Fiji’s High-Commissioner designate to Vanuatu, H.E Jackson Evans and Ms. Sokoveti Naiyaga-Kuinikoro of the Fiji Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with the PFC Director, Mr. Viliame Bovoro and the newly appointed Assistant Director, Ms. Monalisa Tiai-Keti. The meeting discussed updates on the work of the PFC, the support that PFC makes available to Pacific Island Countries and opportunities for enhanced regional, sub-regional and bilateral collaboration.
The visit was also an opportunity for the Special Envoy and his delegation to meet the latest cohort of Pacific officials being trained under the Pacific Analyst Program; a program that builds the capacity of Pacific analysts so that they can provide clear, objective and timely assessments to inform policy decision-making, particularly on priority security issues.
The PFC provides strategic analysis and assessments on shared regional security challenges in support of national, sub-regional and regional responses. The PFC also delivers training and capacity building initiatives to Pacific Island Countries.
The visit to the PFC was part of a broader program for the Special Envoy who is in Port Vila to discuss opportunities for enhance bilateral cooperation between Fiji and Vanuatu.
