The Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Trade Dr Raijeli Taga this morning chaired the monthly Heads of Missions Meeting (HOMs) – a platform through which the Fiji’s Diplomatic Missions abroad and Headquarters Team communicate on a regular basis to provide their respective updates and coordinate the planning and implementation of the key bilateral, multilateral and trade engagements for Fiji.
In her remarks, Dr Taga thanked Fiji’s Diplomatic Missions for the work undertaken throughout the year and wished them well as they progress with their respective engagements this month and into the new year.
Dr Taga also acknowledged the work of the Trade Team who have recently joined the Ministry and emphasised the importance of continued coordination between Fiji’s Diplomatic Missions and the Trade Commissions abroad.
The Mission Team provided their respective updates, and it was also an opportunity for them to engage directly with the Team at the Headquarters on important strategic and operational priorities for the Ministry.
The discussions enabled the Team to reflect on the work undertaken this year, share their upcoming workplans, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthen cooperation internally and externally to advance Fiji’s foreign policy goals of security, sovereignty, and prosperity.
The Mission Team also extended their appreciation to Dr Taga and Team for their continued support and collaboration as they continue to work together to advance Fiji’s diplomatic and foreign services – international and regional engagements.
