The 55th Fiji Day national celebrations based on the theme, “Peace, Unity and Progress for All” commenced on a high note this morning with families and friends gathered at the Albert Park in Suva. The celebrations began with a march procession attended by the civil servants from the government ministries and departments.
The chief guest for the celebrations, Acting President of the Republic of Fiji The Honourable Mr. Justice Salesi Temo reviewed the parade and delivered his remarks on the significance of the Fiji Day celebrations. The program included parade by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) and the Republic of Fiji Navy, followed by 21 Gun Salute.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was pleased to join the other ministries, members of the diplomatic corps, school students and members of the public in celebrating this special occasion, symbolising national pride and unity.
