The Fiji Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) team — led by the Assistant Minister Honourable Lenora Qereqeretabua and Permanent Secretary Dr. Raijeli Taga — commemorated the Pinktober awareness program at the Ministry headquarters in Suva this afternoon.
The program aimed at supporting women’s health highlighted the need for early detection, regular screenings, and collective advocacy in saving lives from the breast cancer. It was a heartfelt tribute to cancer survivors, their families, and remembering those who have lost their lives — and a call for action with a reminder that awareness and solidarity are greatest pillars to defeat cancer.
As part of the initiative, the Ministry donated some cash to Fiji Cancer Society — recognizing its vital role in advocacy, support, and care provided for those affected by cancer. Staff also had the opportunity to engage in informative sessions with the Society, gaining insights into prevention, treatment options, and survivor stories.
The Ministry continues to champion health-focused initiatives like Pinktober and Movember, reinforcing its dedication to staff well-being and national health priorities.
Let’s continue to raise awareness, encourage early screenings, and stand together for our mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters, and friends — in Fiji and beyond. Together, we can help save lives.
