The Fiji Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) convened a stakeholder engagement in preparation for the 9th Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (PFSD) taking place from 29-30 October 2025 at the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) in Suva.
The meeting was an opportunity for the Ministry’s Multilateral Bureau to brief the Deputy Secretary Public Works and Meteorological Services Mr. George Tavo – the Head of Fiji delegation and ministry representatives on the 9th PFSD convened under the theme, “Transformative, equitable, innovative and coordinated actions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for a sustainable future for all.”
The outcomes of the 9th PFSD will be conveyed to the 13 Asia Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) to be held in February, which will then inform the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development to be held in New York 🇺🇲 later in 2026.
This year’s PFSD will assess progress and provide recommendations on the following SDGs:
-Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
-Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
-Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
-Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
-Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals
