The Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Hon. Sakiasi Ditoka, together with the MFAET team, yesterday paid their final respects to their colleague, the late Ms Alisi Pulini, during her funeral service held at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Nausori.
Joining the family and friends of Ms. Pulini, the Ministry expressed its profound gratitude and respect for her exemplary service, professionalism, and dedication — a legacy of leadership, care, and commitment through which she made a positive impact on the lives of many.
Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Dr Raijeli Taga, while delivering a eulogy on behalf of the Ministry, described Ms. Pulini’s life as one devoted to protecting people, strengthening institutions, and preparing communities for the future.
Dr. Taga highlighted Ms. Pulini’s significant contributions to shaping climate policy discussions at regional and international forums, noting that she became an important bridge between complex climate issues and Fiji’s international engagement, while also providing strategic direction. Ms. Pulini championed the voices of vulnerable communities and inspired a generation of Pacific climate leaders.
Dr Taga further said that despite her professional and academic achievements, Ms. Pulini remained deeply grounded — supporting church work, contributing to community life, and cherishing family gatherings.
Ms. Pulini’s service was not limited to the office but extended naturally into the community. She also served as President of the Stella Maris Parents Teachers Friends Association (PTFA), was a committed parent for the Saint Joseph’s and Marist Brothers High School, and a devoted netball supporter and cheerleader courtside on Saturdays — even in recent months.
Dr. Taga expressed the Ministry’s heartfelt condolences to Ms. Pulini’s family, stating that her greatest legacy is reflected in her children and her deep love for them.
The Ministry stands in solidarity with her family during this time of loss and continues to honour the memory of a respected colleague whose dedication and compassion touched her work, her family, and the wider community.
The Ministry extends its deepest condolences to her family and prays for God’s comfort and strength during this difficult time. The MFAET Team also presented ireguregu to Ms. Pulini’s family on Thursday this week, at her residence in Nakasi.
Originally from Vuninuku, Cikobia, Macuata, Ms. Pulini passed away peacefully on Saturday 6 March 2026. Born on 4 January 1984, she is survived by her husband, Apete Vosalevu, and their four children: Apete Patrick, Roselyn, Adi Tiko, and Maria Selita.
Rest in peace, Ms. Pulini. Romans 11:36 reminds us: “For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever.”
