Hon. Ditoka Receives Courtesy Call from the High Commissioner of the Republic of India to Fiji

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Hon. Sakiasi Ditoka, as part of his official engagements on the margins of 2026 Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting in Nadi this week – led the CLMM Heads of Delegations and delegates to a water-based activity at Malolo Islands.
Recognising the traditional guardians of the village of Malolo in the Mamanuca Islands, Hon. Ditoka and representatives of the Attorney General’s Office presented a sevusevu on behalf of the Fiji Government and the Delegation to the Vanua’ o Lawa. Hon. Ditoka later joined the delegates and the secretariat team at the South Sea Island for the Water Based Activity.
During the visit, the delegates witnessed the pending development project in Wacia and its impacts on the surrounding area. As part of the cultural diplomacy, the Delegates visited South Sea Islands and participated in activities including Kayaking, Meke entertainment, snorkelling, coral sighting – providing them an experience of the life in the Mamanuca group.
The S
ecretary-General of Commonwealth, Hon. Shirley Botchwey and the CLMM delegates appreciated the cultural activities and performance by the men and women of Viseisei Vuda. The guests were delighted with the meke and the Fijian handicrafts showcased by the women of Viseisei.
Following the performances and village tour, the Secretary-General and the delegates were hosted to dinner with traditional Fijian food (lovo).
