Hon. Ditoka Receives Courtesy Visit from The German–Pacific Parliamentary Friendship Group

A reception was hosted at the official residence of the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Dr. Andreas Prothmann, in honour of a delegation from the German-Pacific Parliamentary Group on Monday 16th February 2026.
The occasion was attended by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Hon. Sakiasi Ditoka, Cabinet Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of the German delegation, and invited guests.
While attending the event, Hon. Ditoka acknowledged Germany’s continued collaboration with Fiji and reaffirmed Fiji’s commitment to further the relations between our two nations. He acknowledged the German Embassy in Fiji for its ongoing cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade (MFAET).
Ambassador Prothmann expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm relations between the two nations and conveyed Germany’s commitment to deepening cooperation with Fiji and the wider Pacific region.
He emphasized the importance of continued dialogue, partnership, and shared responsibility in addressing global challenges.
The German Day reception concluded on a high note, reinforcing the strong diplomatic bonds between Fiji and Germany and setting a positive note for continued collaboration in the years ahead.
