Cabinet has approved that the Fiji flag be flown at half-mast, effective today 1st April, 2026 until further notice, in honour of the late Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
This gesture reflects the nation’s respect and recognition of his lifelong service and contribution to Fiji.
Two condolence books have also been opened for those wishing to pay their respects. The condolence books will be available from Tuesday 7th April through to Friday 17th April 2026, during office hours (9.00am – 4.00pm.), as follows:
- A condolence book for the Diplomatic Corps is available at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade office.
- A public condolence book is available at the Ministry of Information Media Room, Ground Floor, New Wing, Government Buildings.
Members of the public and the diplomatic community are encouraged to visit and sign the condolence books as the nation mourns the passing of a former President of Fiji who dedicated his life to national service.
