The Fiji High Commission in New Zealand, led by High Commissioner His Excellency Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, undertook a strategic courtesy visit to CJ Panpac, the New Zealand subsidiary of the CJ Patel Group, together with Fiji’s Trade Team based in Auckland.
The engagement focused on the return on investment Fiji derives from its commercial footprint in New Zealand, particularly through established distribution channels that position Fijian-made products in major retail networks across the country.
CJ Panpac’s national distribution infrastructure represents a significant multiplier effect for Fiji’s exporters. By leveraging an established logistics and retail platform, Fijian brands reduce market entry costs, accelerate shelf placement, and expand consumer reach — translating into increased export earnings, brand recognition, and sustained market share growth.
Discussions highlighted:
- The commercial value generated through expanded distribution of Fijian-manufactured goods;
- Strengthened brand positioning of Fiji as a trusted Pacific producer;
- The role of private sector partnerships in safeguarding market access amid evolving regulatory and pricing conditions;
- Opportunities to increase export volumes and diversify product lines within the New Zealand market.
The meeting underscored that Fiji’s diplomatic presence in New Zealand delivers tangible economic returns — not only through bilateral relations but through direct support to businesses generating foreign exchange earnings and employment at home.
By aligning government trade facilitation efforts with established private-sector operators such as CJ Panpac, Fiji maximises the return on its diplomatic investment. The Mission reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Fijian exporters, deepening market penetration, and ensuring that Fiji’s economic diplomacy translates into measurable growth outcomes.
This engagement reinforces Fiji’s strategic objective of strengthening trade flows, increasing export revenue, and building resilient economic ties with New Zealand.
The delegation to CJ Panpac included Second Secretary Mr. Samuela Kanakatakata, Consular Officer Mr. Emosi Simolo, Business Development Manager Mr. Kritesh Maharaj, and Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) Country Liaison Officer Mr. Greg Traill.
