The Fiji High Commission, led by High Commissioner H.E. Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, paid a courtesy visit to Nassau International Freight Services in Auckland, where they met with Managing Director Ms. Jackie Nassau and her team, together with members of the High Commission’s Trade Team based in Auckland.
Discussions focused on opportunities to enhance logistics and freight services between Fiji and New Zealand, particularly in improving the efficiency and reliability of cargo movement between the two countries. Nassau International outlined its role in facilitating the shipment of both personal effects and commercial cargo for Pacific communities, including Fijian seasonal workers and businesses engaged in bilateral trade.
The meeting also provided a platform to discuss practical challenges affecting cargo clearance and delivery, and to explore ways in which logistics providers and government agencies can work more closely to streamline processes. Strengthening coordination and information-sharing between stakeholders was highlighted as an important step toward improving supply chain efficiency and supporting the growing movement of goods between Fiji and New Zealand.
The visit forms part of the Fiji High Commission’s ongoing engagement with private sector partners to strengthen trade facilitation, improve logistics connectivity, and support Fijian exporters and workers who rely on efficient freight services between Fiji and New Zealand.
The Fiji delegation included Second Secretary Mr. Samuela Kanakatakata, Consular Officer Mr. Emosi Simolo, Business Development Manager Mr. Kritesh Maharaj, and Fiji’s RSE Country Liaison Officer Mr. Greg Traill.
