
Fiji’s Permanent Representative Presents Credentials to Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO)

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Hon. Sakiasi Ditoka received a courtesy call visit from the Solomon Islands High Commissioner to the Republic of Fiji, His Excellency Joseph Ma’ahanua, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Suva, this week.
Hon. Ditoka formally welcomed His Excellency Ma’ahanua and acknowledged the deep-rooted and enduring relationship between Fiji and Solomon Islands, built on shared history, people-to-people connections, and contributions of Fijians who have served in various capacities in Solomon Islands over the years.
Hon. Ditoka highlighted the recent cooperation between the two countries. The Justice-to-Justice Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and the Deployment of Fiji Security Personnel to the Solomon Islands MoU both signed last year which were important milestones in strengthening our partnership. Hon. Ditoka also noted ongoing exchanges between the two civil aviation authorities.
In his remarks, His Excellency Ma’ahanua expressed appreciation for the opportunity to meet with the Honourable Minister and reaffirmed Solomon Islands commitment to further strengthening its relations with Fiji across priority areas of cooperation.
The meeting concluded with both parties expressing optimism for continued partnerships and engagement.
