In their first official meeting ahead of the CLMM, Prime Minister, Honourable Sitiveni Rabuka and the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Honourable Shirley Botchwey reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen relations between Commonwealth and Fiji, and the wider Pacific region. The CLMM is the first Commonwealth ministerial meeting for Secretary General Botchwey and her first official engagement in the Pacific since assuming office.
The meeting recognised our longstanding cooperation and explored opportunities to further the collaboration on issues of mutual priorities, with upcoming key engagements being highlighted as follows:
- Commonwealth Foreign Ministers Meeting in London – 6 March 2026

As CLMM officially opens today – the Attorneys General and Ministers of Law and Justice from across the Commonwealth will deliberate on current legal developments in their jurisdictions and explore responses to evolving and emerging law and justice matters affecting Commonwealth citizens.
