DESCRIPTION:The eightieth session of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) will be held from 22 to 26 April 2024 at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok. \nGuided by the theme “Leveraging digital innovation for sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific”\, the eightieth session will be an opportunity to strengthen region-wide cooperative action on leveraging digital innovation for the accelerated implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. \nThe session will bring together government leaders and ministers from across Asia and the Pacific and other key stakeholders to discuss how digital innovation can more inclusively contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals across multiple disciplines. \nMoreover\, participants will be able to identify opportunities to fully unleash the transformative potential of digital innovations and discuss pathways to strengthen their contribution to sustainable development. A digital innovations fair will provide space to engage with a broad range of partners and stakeholders showcasing digital innovations that are already contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals across the region.

DESCRIPTION:Nice\, France | 9 June – 13 June 2025 \nThe high-level 2025 United Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans\, seas and marine resources for sustainable development (the 2025 UN Ocean Conference) will be co-hosted by France and Costa Rica and held in Nice\, France\, from 9 – 13 June 2025. \nThe overarching theme of the Conference is “Accelerating action and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean”. The Conference aims to support further and urgent action to conserve and sustainably use the oceans\, seas and marine resources for sustainable development and identify further ways and means to support the implementation of SDG 14. It will build on existing instruments to form successful partnerships towards the swift conclusion and effective implementation of ongoing processes that contribute to the conservation and sustainable use of the ocean.

DESCRIPTION:Belém\, Brazil | Nov 10- 21\, 2025 \nThe 2025 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 30) will convene from 10-21 November 2025 in Belém\, Brazil. The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the largest global event for discussions and negotiations on climate change. The meeting is held annually\, with the presidency rotating among the five regions recognized by the United Nations. \nUN Climate Change Conference are important platforms that brings together delegates from nearly every country on Earth to negotiate global goals for tackling climate change\, present their individual countries’ plans for contributing to those goals and report on their progress. \nAt the United Nations Climate Change conference in Paris\, COP 21\, governments agreed that mobilizing stronger and more ambitious climate action is urgently required to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. Action must come from governments\, cities\, regions\, businesses and investors. Everyone has a role to play in effectively implementing the Paris Agreement. The Paris Agreement formally acknowledges the urgent need to scale up our global response to climate change\, which supports even greater ambition from governments.
