MSG foreign ministers meeting reaffirms regional solidarity

The 23rd Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Leaders Pre-Summit Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) continued today at the Bose Levu Vakaturanga (BLV) Talanoa Lounge in Suva.
The outcomes of the 2-day SOM will be submitted to the Foreign Ministers Meeting (FMM) tomorrow and finally recommended to Leaders for endorsement on Monday 23rd June 2025.
With the theme, “A Peaceful and Prosperous Melanesia”, the 23rd MSG Leader’s Summit will culminate in the traditional handover of chairmanship of the sub-regional organization to Fiji by Vanuatu. The traditional handover of the MSG Chairmanship will take place at the Bose Levu Vakaturaga Grounds on Monday 23rd June 2025.
The MSG promotes and strengthens inter membership trade, exchange of Melanesian cultures, traditions and values, sovereign equality, economic and technical cooperation between States and the alignment of policies to further Member’s shared goals of economic growth, sustainable development, good governance and security.
The Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs Dr Raijeli Taga represented Fiji at the 2-day SOM 2025, while Fiji’s Special Envoy to the Pacific, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola will represent Fiji at the FMM to convene tomorrow morning at the (BLV) Talanoa Lounge in Suva.
