Hon. Qereqeretabua Receives Courtesy Visit from International Idea

The Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and External Trade, Hon. Lenora Qereqeretabua received a courtesy call from the United States Deputy Assistant Secretary for Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Island Affairs, Mr. Seth Bailey, at the Ministry headquarters in Suva yesterday.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the long-standing friendship and strategic partnership between Fiji and the United States that provided a platform to discuss a wide range of issues, including trade and investment, economic resilience, infrastructure development, and regional engagement.
In welcoming Mr. Bailey to Fiji, Hon. Qereqeretabua reiterated Fiji’s commitment to working closely with the U.S to address all issues concerned and advance trade and economic opportunities that deliver tangible benefits to the peoples of both nations and contribute to long-term regional prosperity.
Mr. Bailey acknowledged Fiji’s strategic importance in the Pacific and expressed the United States’ support for initiatives that promotes sustainable growth and development.
Further, Mr. Bailey commended Fiji’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its trade and investment frameworks and conveyed the United States’ readiness to work collaboratively on areas of mutual interest.
