The Fiji Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in the Civil Service Day 2025 celebrations, which commenced with a vibrant march and float parade along Suva streets and were preceded by an official ceremony at Albert Park in Suva yesterday (4.7.25).
The Acting Prime Minister and Acting Minister for Civil Service Hon. Viliame Gavoka officiated the event based on the theme ‘Inspire Hope and Resilience in Combating Drugs and Violence Against Women in the Civil Service’.
Civil Servants have been encouraged to be advocates in creating “safe, inclusive workplaces and communities” that support the “empowerment of women at every level of development”. The contributions, hardwork and devoted service of all the civil servants have been acknowledged and including especially those serving our remote communities in the hard-to-reach, interior, rural and maritime areas.
Civil Service Day is dedicated to recognizing the dedication and hard work of all the civil servants in the quest for nation-building and promoting peace and prosperity. It’s also a day of reflection and to reaffirm commitment to serve the Fijian people with integrity, compassion, and dedication.
The celebrations also was an opportunity for the government ministries to showcase their wide range of services through the exhibition and information booths. These were an effective platform for the students and the public to become familiarized with the various government services, programs and policy initiatives.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs utilized the opportunity to engage with the school students and members of the public to create awareness on the important role of the Ministry in building, “A Premier Foreign Service that promotes and protects Fiji’s Interests”.
We thank everyone who made this event a huge success and acknowledge all the ministries, stakeholders, the general-public, students and everyone who took part in the celebrations and have supported us on this important journey on working together to build a vibrant and efficient Civil Service in Fiji.
