In the Pacific Way, the senior officials from the Fiji Government had the opportunity to engage with the three-member High-Level Persons Group commissioned by the Forum Chair to engage in dialogue with Forum Members, on the Review of the Regional Architecture to support the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent (2050 Strategy).
The Team comprises of Minister for Education, Sports and Training for the Republic of Marshall Islands, Honourable Gerald Zackios, Special Duties Advisor and Secretary to the Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, Dr. Jimmie Rodgers, Chief Executive Officer, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Samoa, Ms. Peseta Noumea Simi.
While chairing the Senior Officials Dialogue, the Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Dr Raijeli Taga thanked the High-Level Persons Group and reaffirmed Fiji’s commitment to this critical process in shaping a regionally coherent and strategically aligned Pacific future.
Dr Taga described the dialogue as timely, given the complexities that the Pacific Region is navigating and in the Pacific Way, it will set the foundation to have a robust regional architecture focused on strengthening the region’s solidarity and resilience in line with the 2050 Strategy.
The outcomes of these High-Level Political Talanoa will inform recommendations to Forum Leaders at the annual Forum Leaders’ Summit in Solomon Islands in September on what a realigned regional architecture would look like that will best meet our collective vision set out in the 2050 Strategy.
The Senior Officials Dialogue was held earlier this week on Tuesday 17th June 2026 at the Fiji Learning Institute for Public Service (FLIPS) in Suva.
