Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka met with Singapore’s Emeritus Senior Minister, Hon Goh Chok Tong on Tuesday where they discussed about the evolving global environment and the importance of strengthened cooperation between Small Island States and advanced economies.
The meeting, held at Istana Palace in Singapore, underscored Fiji and Singapore’s shared commitment to sustainable development, resilience, adaptability, and partnership in the face of growing global challenges.
Prime Minister Rabuka and the Emeritus Senior Minister last met in 1998, during Mr. Goh’s tenure as Prime Minister of Singapore.
During their meeting, the PM acknowledged Singapore’s progress and for being a model of transformation and innovation, noting that Fiji continues to draw valuable lessons from the Asian economy’s experiences.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral ties and promoting regional solidarity in key areas such as climate action, digital development, and sustainable economic growth.
