The outgoing non-resident Nuncio to Fiji H.E. Archbishop Martin Krebs today paid his farewell call on the Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs. H.E. Krebs met with Ambassador Ioane Naivalurua at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters in Suva shortly after he made his farewell call on H.E. the President. Permanent Secretary Naivalurua thanked H.E. Krebs for his service to Fiji and wished him well in his posting to Uruguay. H.E. Krebs informed Permanent Secretary Naivalurua that his successor will be appointed soon and looked forward to the development of enhanced relations between the two countries

Ecuador's first non-resident Ambassador to Fiji H.E. Juan Sancisi yesterday (17 July 2018) paid his courtesy call on the Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs Maj General (Ret'd) Ioane Naivalurua shortly after presenting his credentials to H.E. The President at Borron House.  The Ambassadors discussed areas of mutual cooperation in the multilateral sphere as well as initiatives that would progress and further strengthen bilateral relations specifically in the areas of trade and people to people exchanges. It was Ambassador's Sancisi's first time in Fiji having served in Hungary, Bulgaria, France, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines and the Russian Federation. Ambassador Sancisi is resident in Canberra, Australia
