2nd July 2012, Suva: Fiji’s first resident Ambassador to the Republic of Korea [ROK]  Mr. Filimoni Kau departed Fiji this morning to assume his new appointment in Seoul Korea.

Fiji’s Ambassador to Japan HE Mr. Isikeli Mataitoga currently serves as our non-resident Ambassador to Korea.

Mr. Kau received his commission from the President last Thursday at a ceremony at Borron House and was farewelled by the Ministry on Friday.

Fiji is scheduled to open its new Embassy in Korea next month.

ROK was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Fiji, when it did so on 30 January 1971.
