The Trade Development Committee (TDC) is an inter ministerial/departmental committee that has been mandated by Cabinet to oversee and manage Fiji’s international trade and economic policies, including Fiji’s evolving position on various issues and trade negotiations. The Committee is chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has membership of all central and line agencies. It constitutes a mechanism for information-sharing and decision-making on international economic trade-related issues.
The Committee has two components, firstly, the Focused TDC, which consists of representatives form government only; second, the Extended TDC includes stakeholders from the private sector and civil society. The Extended TDC allows the Government to incorporate views of the private sector and civil society on vital trade related issues of national importance.
