Mrs Sovaia Marawa

Director Economics and Trade

Mrs. Sovaia Marawa assumed the position of Director for Economics and Trade in June 2010. Prior to her appointment, she served as Chief Economist in the Ministry of Industry and Trade where she spent 14 years of her career.

Mrs. Marawa joined the Civil Service in 1995 as a Graduate Trainee in the Small Business Advisory Unit and in the Economic Analysis Unit of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Management from the University of the South Pacific in 1995 and a Diploma in Trade Policy in 2003 from the World Trade Organisation in Switzerland.

Mrs. Marawa is married with 2 children.
