Acting Director for International Cooperation

Peni assumed the position of Acting Director for International Cooperationin July 2010. Prior to his appointment, he was the First Secretary at the Embassy of Fiji in Washington DC USA where he had served since 2006.

Peni joined the Civil Service in 1989 and served in the following Ministries and Departments: Joint Intelligence Center of the Office of the Prime Minister. Ministry of Home Affairs & Immigration.

Peni enlisted with the Republic of Fiji Military Forces in January 1983 and was deployed with the First Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment in June 1983 for service with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.

Peni holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Administration from the University of the South Pacific and a Graduate Diploma in Strategic Studies from the Joint Services Staff College, Canberra, Australia.

He is married with one child.
