The Division is responsible for advancing and protecting Fiji’s political and security interest throughimporved bilateral relations and proactive engagements in multilateral forums.  Particularly, through Fiji’s membership and participation in appropriate forums of a number of organisations and agencies of the United Nations and international and regional organisations such as the Pacific Community, the Pacific Islands Forum, University of the South Pacific, the South Pacific Applied Geosciences Commission, South Pacific Regional Environmental Programme and the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group.   

The Division is also responsible for monitoring and updating the bilateral and international treaties which Fiji has acceded to, signed and ratified
