Economics & International Cooperation Division
This Division comprises two Units: the Economics Division and the International Cooperation Division.
The role of the Division is to pursue sound, advantageous and proactive engagement with the global communities through partnership, cooperation and negotiations, in order to ensure improved market access and enhanced economic relations and integration with the world, leading to prosperity and development.
The Division is also responsible for pursuing improvedinvestment and tourism promotion; technology harvesting; and enhanced international technical & development assistance.
The Division is engaged in actively positioning Fiji to take advantage of the economic benefits of globalisation and emerging markets through proactive negotiations, partnership and cooperation with the international community.
In addition, the Division has a unit that co-ordinates the inflow of Overseas Development Assistance (ODA) and other assistance as well as facilitates training programs with various stakeholders.
The Deputy Secretary (Economics & Trade) is the head of the Division whose main responsibility is the overall supervision of all staff members of the Division, including International Cooperation.
