Friday 16th December, 2011, USA: Assistant Superintendent of Police Abdul Khan was among 265 colleagues from the USA and 25 other countries who graduated from 11 weeks of intensive study and physical training at the prestigious FBI Academy located on the US Marine Corps base in Quantico, Virginia, USA on Friday 16th December.
This was the 247th output of this program which has seen some 120 countries participate involving over 44,000 graduates. FBI Director Mueller was the Guest Speaker and handed out the Diplomas.
There is intense competition for places and only the very best candidates are selected after a rigorous screening process and only exceptional overseas candidates are selected by the FBI Academy.
ASP Khan was highly praised by his colleagues on the course. He thoroughly participated in all facets of the grueling program and came out with flying colors. He thanked the US government for sponsoring his training and the Fiji Commissioner of Police for his confidence in nominating him.
Winston Thompson, Fiji’s Ambassador to the United States and Mrs. Queenie Thompson were invited by ASP Khan to represent his family at the graduation and he was very pleased to see them there. Ambassador Thompson said he was very proud that ASP Khan had acquitted himself and Fiji so impressively.
