What is the Role?

The post reports to the Deputy Secretary Policy and is responsible for the management of staff within the Oceania Bureau of the Policy Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The incumbent is required to provide policy advice via written briefs, cabinet papers and policy submissions on key geo-political and economic developments concerning Fiji’s strategic interests in the wider Pacific Region. This includes preparing for and representing Fiji in visits, meetings, conferences, and bilateral negotiations and providing policy briefs to Ministerial delegations representing Fiji at such meetings; working closely with other government agencies, resident missions and development partners to coordinate and follow up on bilateral and regional programs and projects secured through ODA in line with Fiji’s strategic interests.

What is the Role?

The post reports to the Deputy Secretary Policy and is responsible for the management of staff within the Muti-laterals Bureau of the Policy Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The incumbent is required to provide policy advice via written briefs, cabinet papers and policy submissions on key political developments concerning Fiji’s strategic interests within the Multi-lateral systems headquartered in New York, Geneva, Brussels, Bonn and Addis Ababa. This includes preparing for and representing Fiji in visits, meetings, conferences, and multi-lateral negotiations and providing policy briefs to Ministerial delegations representing Fiji at such meetings; working closely with other government agencies, resident missions and development partners.
